Porsche 911

Porsche’s 911 super car comes in 4-flavors for the 2007 model year: Carrera, Carrera S, GT3 and Turbo. Both the Carrera and Carrera S are available in coupe and convertible body styles, as well as rear or all-wheel drive. For the ‘07 model year, changes include standard tire pressure monitoring technology and the availability of new optional wheels. A 325-horsepower, 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder engine propels the Carrera Coupe to 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds, while the Carrera Cabriolet needs 5.0 seconds to achieve the same speed. Both models are capable of reaching 177 mph. For more muscle, the GT3 creates 415 ponies and rockets from 0-to-60 mph in an amazingly quick 4.1 seconds, and the 911 GT3RS elevates accelerates to 4.0 seconds. Porsche’s ultimate 911 Turbo generates 480 horses via its twin-turbocharged 3,6-liter six banger, and zooms to 60 mph in a microscopic 3.7 seconds. Exotic options include race-bred ceramic disc brakes, a navigation system and a Sport Chrono package.

Porsche Boxster / Boxster S

If driving is your passion, there is no substitute for the sheer inspiration of a sports car like the 2007 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S. Within an open-top, 2-seater layout sits a mid-mounted, 6-cylinder “boxer” engine, with a low center of gravity helping to instill driving confidence through the corners. Equipped with the latest Motronic ME 7.8 engine management system, results in a maximum of 295 horsepower on the Boxster S and 245 hp on the standard Boxster model. Boxster comes equipped with a lightweight 5-speed manual gearbox. An optional Sport package uses a high-performance, 6-speed manual gearbox with the Porsche Active Suspension Management. Boxster S comes standard with this revised six-speed unit. Top track speed is 169 miles per hour on the Boxster S, and 9-miles less on the Boxster.

Porsche 911 GT3

When Porsche decided to build the 2007 911 GT3, they applied the same development and engineering that went into the 911 race cars that won the 12 hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the ALMS championship. The car is built around the most powerful normally aspirated engine Porsche has ever built, the rear mounted 415 horsepower, 3.6-liter 6-cylinder. A specifically designed 6-speed manual tranny is mated to the engine, and the combination rockets the car from 0-to-60 miles per hour in a scant 4.1 seconds. On track top speed is 193 miles per hour. True to racecar technology, the 911 GT3 has a fully adjustable chassis and rear wing, and the new front apron features a range of aerodynamic refinements, which help to cool the brakes and direct air to the central radiator. A 3rd radiator unit is a necessary addition to compensate for the higher thermal loads on the engine. In the 911 GT3 cockpit the environment is reduced to the bare essentials. All instruments are clearly visible, and all controls easy to operate. Though fully prepared for the challenges of the track, the 911 GT3 is equally enjoyable in everyday road use.
